I had 2 deadlines to meet, just signed up with a new marketing company and wanted to figure it all out, was on a crunch because I had a wedding rehearsal, bridal shower and wedding to attend Friday & Saturday and THIS was the day they decided to:

I am finding it sooooo difficult to balance. Keeping up with my friends social activities, keeping up with my family and keeping up with my business. This week I had a few major deadlines to meet, a wedding rehearsal, a bridal shower, a wedding, a birthday and a funeral. Clearly my business & family have to come first. Some of the times, family over business and at other times business over family time. But when it comes to choosing business over friends events, sometimes this isn't understood. This week I chose not to attend a funeral... My mind ran through the process of "Well, he's not living anymore, so he will have no idea I didn't attend. Plus I didn't even know the guy!" Almost every time I attend a party, I am up until 5/6am the night/morning before trying to crunch in all of my work so I won't lose out on doing too much the few hours I am attending the party.

Anyway, just wondering if anyone else can relate... Off to a b-day party :)

Make Lemonade.. AKA.. Make the best of it... Hopefully somehow you stumbled across this blog on a day where you were feeling down. Take this piece of advice and turn whatever may be negative in your life into something positive.

Recently I was hired by the YMCA again to photograph 2 full days of kids, adults, etc. involved in various activities at their establishment for use in advertising material. Here are a few samples :)

While I was shooting today, this guy slithered up behind us! Myself and the teen model were paranoid that he would come back when we continued the shoot. Luckily, we never saw him again! (wiping my forehead!)

Scheduled a few Teen folio tests today, will be shooting next week. Also spoke with 2 companies today to help with marketing... now, just need to choose which one I will go with.. THINK, THINK, THINK!

really does pay off! As someone who's business wouldn't survive without constantly reaching out to the right people, I realize that you can start questioning if your persistence will pay off... Yesterday it hit me that I purchased products from 2 companies that CONSTANTLY send me e-mail blasts.. They had what I was looking for and needed... The same with photography... If I keep sending, and sending and sending, it will pay off and has thus far... Just a quick realization I came to.. Back to working I go!

Sometimes it's a little rough with the constant marketing pushes that we do as photographers going after advertising and commercial jobs... We sometimes wonder if anybody is noticing... I silently asked myself this question today and within seconds... SOMEONE answered my question with the ad above...

I am finally getting around to removing the images from San Diego from my memory card. Of course these aren't all of them, just a few of the ones I like :)

I think all in all San Diego was great and hopefully we made a few long lasting connections... That's what it's all about isn't it?? Is it just me or does any other photog get "THIS IS YOUR BOOK? I thought you were 15 years old!" 15, really??? I am thankful for the compliment, but I have to do something about this! I may not get the same amount of time with each client, they may take one look and think I'm a child! Time to go to Nordstrom's, Macy's or wherever to find myself a few "POWER SUITS"!
